I actually own a whitening kit that was several hundred dollars because they fitted the mouth piece to my teeth (*it was a gift*) and I can tell you that this method is working just as well as the one my grandmother got for me. However, if just brushing it on your teeth isn't working as well as you'd hoped (something that I tried) you can put the mixture into a mouthpiece (the kind you get with whitening kits). Just keep in mind that if you leave it in for too long or do it to often the malic acid can really damage your enamel. But you should take such precautions with any whitener.
